Dumbara Weave Plate
Two textile traditions on one plate. The stepped diamonds, zigzags and blocky woven elephants of Dumbara mat weaving, still practised in a handful of villages near Kandy, alternate with the organic lines and cracked-wax texture of Sri Lankan batik.
